 Mike,

Thank you for taking the time to talk with us. We know you have a tight schedule with Hangtown coming up so we will keep it short. You have had a couple races in the AMA Outdoor Nationals and we would like to hear what you have learned. Moreover, what is your position on the upcoming season?

I want to get points in every moto of every race.  I want to get good starts and solid finishes. I just want to be consistent this year.

Tell us about your two appearances in the 2004 AMA Outdoor Nationals. What did you do different at Millville verses Steel City to produce such a varied performance and result?

I just trained a little harder, and got near the front at the starts and stayed there.

Can you tell us what you have learned from these experiences and how have you improved?

Well I learned you must be patient, and let the race come to you

You are known for your ability to produce incredible starts. Is that one of your biggest assets to insure a podium finish? Explain? What is your weight? How much horsepower does a 250F KTM produce? Do you ever clock your reaction time?

I practice them [starts] often and a good start is always good for your race, I did try to clock reaction in the qualifier and got stuck in the gate, but I think being 130 lbs is a good advantage, and my bike is super fast.

It is very unlikely, but if you fail at a good start this weekend how prepared are you to work your way up through the pack with the best 125 (250F) riders in the world?

I will do whatever I have to, make passes and get to the front.

You have been racing around the globe over the past couple of months and doing very well. List two places you raced recently that stands out in your mind?  why?

Well, I liked racing Hawkstone in UK, the track was awesome. I liked the competition in France those French riders are super fast.

Let's look at your upcoming race (05/22/05). How comfortable are you on the Hangtown track? Why?

Well I think the Hangtown track is good for me, I have raced there many times as an amateur so I am comfortable there.

We know your team does a lot of homework to be fully prepared when you come to the races. Looking at the Hangtown track, from your studies, what five riders do you think will be extremely competitive (besides yourself)?

I think the guys there are Langston, Hughes, Hepler, Grant and Brown.

Out of that five … what are the strong points of the two fastest?

Langston and Hughes, both animals, and super strong.

Looking at the series (not just Hangtown), what 3 riders, beside yourself, do you think will be the strongest and "most consistent to the end"?

Hard to say this year way too many good guys, there will be a mix of results every weekend.

Thank you for your time Mike. We look forward to seeing more of you on the big screen and what you have to bring to the sport. Best of luck this weekend and we hope to talk with you again soon.

 Welcome.
