Chad Reed and Tim Ferry did well. Both riders made it to the podium. However, the unrecognized hero in camp blue was David Vuillemin. David's day did not go well. He appeared to be one of the fastest riders on the track during practice but bad luck got the best of him in his heat race. From dead last after falling in the first corner, David charged through the pack. He managed to climb all the way to around 5 position with time to spear. He miss-timed one the jumps, went over the bars head first and landed on the face of another jump. It was a fast, hard and painful spill. In fact, David will have to sit out the rest of the season due to a fractured vertebra. We wish him a full a speedy recovery. |
